Frequently Asked Questions

Question:  WHAT IS THE BASIS OF YOUR PRACTICE PHILOSOPHY?

Dr. LeFevre: Every individual is inherently whole, resourceful, and creative. In my practice, I help people access and strengthen their connection to internal resources, however hidden those resources may appear to be.

Once the connections to these internal recources have deepened , the individual will experience the empowerment necessary to deal directly with problems and be able to focus on solutions.

Resolving past conflicts (both internal and intrapersonal) and uncovering the unconscious motivation will help clients to identify and overcome obstacles that have stopped them from getting what they want and need.

Emotions are an essential guide to this healing process. Learning how to identify and express feelings helps people get "unstuck," and this allows them to clarify where and how they want to be.

My practice then changes from psychotherapy to life coaching and sometimes, teaching. I often suggest homework that is tailored to the specific needs and goals of the client. Readings, tapes and CDs, exercises, games, and / or skills drills are sometimes essential tools that help a person integrate behavioral and cognitive changes into everyday life.

My psychotherapy practice can help the client stabilize his/her psychological, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. My coaching practice focuses on helping a stabilized client to clarify and bring dreams into reality.
